Tintypes are one of the earliest forms of photography, created in the 1800s with light-sensitive chemistry on a metal plate. Each one is hand-poured, developed in real time, and completely one-of-a-kind—no two will ever look alike. With silver and collodion preserving us exactly as we are, a tintype becomes more than a photograph, it’s an heirloom meant to last longer than we do.
Originally from Milwaukee, I now find inspiration among the scenic bluffs of Winona, MN. After years behind the digital camera, I’ve fallen in love with the craft of tintype photography. I’m drawn to the delicate, handcrafted process that transforms transient moments into enduring images, each plate preserving a story uniquely yours — portraits that feel both personal and eternal.
